January 08, 2026 06:30 PM until January 08, 2026 09:30 PM

Multi-instrumentalist Yates McKendree is just 23 years old, however his experience as a professional musician goes back 10+ years. That early experience includes playing regularly in some of Nashville’s most notable venues (The Bluebird Cafe, The Ryman Auditorium, 3rd & Lindsley). It also includes North American and European tours and multiple appearances on national television (Imus In The Morning, CBS Mornings).

During Yates’s high school years, he played on and engineered many recording projects; most notably for Delbert McClinton and John Hiatt, who told Rolling Stone Magazine, “Yates was our secret ingredient.” In January 2020, Yates earned a Grammy™ Award for his role as an engineer and a musician on Delbert McClinton’s “Tall Dark & Handsome.”

Born and raised in Nashville's Rock House Studio, Yates McKendree is a GrammyTM-winning multi-instrumentalist and a torchbearer of the music he loves: straight-up traditional blues. Self-taught from age three, McKendree honed his craft alongside legends like Delbert McClinton and John Hiatt, earning a Grammy in 2020 for his performance on McClinton’sTall, Dark & Handsome. His 2022 and #1 worldwide charting debut, Buchanan Lane, showcased his deep reverence for blues heritage and earned critical acclaim, BMA and Grammy ballot nominations. Now, McKendree returns with Need to Know, releasing July 11, 2025 . Produced with his father, Kevin McKendree, and featuring songwriting collaborators like Gary Nicholson, the album promises raw, analog blues—no digital tricks, just real music played by real people.
